WERDEGAR, J.

A Tulare County jury convicted defendant Jose Lupercio Casares of the attempted premeditated murder of Alvaro Lopez and the murder of Guadalupe Sanchez. (Pen. Code, §§ 664, 187. j With respect to the murder, the jury found true a lying-in-wait special-circumstance allegation. (§ 190.2, subd. (a)(15).) As to both offenses the jury found defendant personally used a firearm (§§ 1203.06, subd. (a)(1), 1192.7, subd. (c)(8); former § 12022.5); it found not true an allegation he personally inflicted great bodily injury on Lopez (former § 12022.7). The jury also convicted defendant…
