for the Court:

¶ 1. James Funchess pleaded guilty in the Madison County Circuit Court to the sale of cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school. He was sentenced to serve sixty years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), with thirty years suspended and five years of postrelease supervision (PRS). Funchess filed his first motion for postconviction relief (PCR) arguing: (1) ineffective assistance of counsel; (2) his plea was involuntary; and (3) his sentence was illegal.
