This judgment rests on a verdict. For this reason the outlines and salient features of the case will serve to indicate the legal errors asserted and afford an ample basis for their disposition. In many of its aspects it is the most extraordinary case which has ever come under my observation. No evidence can be found in the record which discloses the origin or motive of the plaintiff’s case, and it is equally barren of testimony which serves to illustrate and explain the defendant’s theory.
