These appeals are from orders denying post-conviction relief on petition for issuance of writ of habeas corpus and on motion under § 2255, Title 28 U.S.C.A., respectively.

Petitioner, an inmate of a United States correctional institution, was convicted on his plea of guilty to a violation of § 2312, Title 18 U.S.C.A., in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California on January 16, 1961.
