The tenant occupied an apartment in the building 1925 Seventh Avenue, borough of Manhattan, New York City, for several years prior to the commencement of the summary proceedings. The tenancy was a monthly hiring from the owner-landlord, the Lawyers Trust Company. On October 29, 1943, that company leased the apartment then occupied by the tenant in this proceeding to one Cannon for a term of three years and three days from October 29, 1943, to October 31, 1946.
