On December 13, 2006, law enforcement personnel seized $572,204 in United States currency from a horse trailer following a traffic stop. The stop and subsequent search and seizure occurred as the result of a joint Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”) and Massachusetts State Police (“MSP”) investigation involving the surveillance of suspected drug trafficking activity.
