The instrument of assent, signed and acknowledged by a majority of the tax-payers of Danville who represented *151a majority of the grand list of that town, named and constituted William J. Stanton, William B. Palmer, and Benjamin Green-banks to be commissioners to make and execute, in the name and in behalf'of that town, the contract and subscription which these tax payers had assented to, and to do all other things required of such commissioners by the enabling act.
