CLEMENS, Presiding Judge.

The State charged defendant with, and a jury found him guilty of robbing Dennis Eckstein of five dollars by means of a knife (Section 560.135, RSMo). Defendant appeals from a judgment and sentence of 17 years’ imprisonment.

*402In his motion for a new trial and his appellate brief defendant charges that during the testimony of a defense alibi witness he was denied a fair trial by the trial court “sustaining objections” that had not been made and sua sponte ordering the witness not to answer defense counsel’s questions.
