STAKELY, Justice.

The appellant, Bedford Greer, filed his complaint in the Circuit Court of Marshall County against Carl Johnson Motor Com*619pany, Inc., claiming $5,000 as damages for the conversion by the defendant of a 1956 Mercury automobile belonging to the plaintiff. The complaint was later amended to add Universal C. I. T. Credit Corporation as a party defendant and a substituted count was filed claiming against both defendants individually and jointly.
