November 10, 1941, the plaintiffs’ intestates, Jeannette Trumbo, Dale Harry Harold, Eathel Mills and Warren Ellis Taplin, while riding in an automobile owned by Harold and driven by Taplin, received fatal injuries arising out of a collision, at the Main street crossing of the defendant, the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad Company, in the village of Leland, between the automobile in which they were riding and a locomotive engine, and train of’ cars owned and operated by defendant.
