|aOn January 10, 2008, a Jefferson Parish Grand Jury indicted defendant, Cody Wright, with the second degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:3o.!. 1 Defendant was arraigned on January 16, 2008, and pled not guilty. On July 16, 2008, the State severed defendant from his co-defendants for trial. The case was subsequently tried before a 12-person jury, which found defendant guilty of the responsive verdict of manslaughter.
