In the Superior Court the defendant was convicted of larceny, under an indictment charging that he, on the 15th day of November, 1906, at Woonsocket, "a certain railroad freight car of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad Company, a corporation duly chartered and organized under the laws of,,the State of Rhode Island, there situate, unlawfully and feloniously did break and enter with intent then and therein to commit larceny and one thousand six hundred and forty pounds of cotton, each pound of the value of ten and one-eighth cents, all of the aggregate value of one hundred and…
