The defendant, in an impeachment proceeding, appeals from a judgment of guilt rendered against him on the verdict of a jury on a charge of corruption in office.

In Specification I, it is alleged that defendant was elected Judge of the Court of General Sessions of Mobile County in 1966 and was installed in that office on January 16, 1967; that he became Ex officio Judge of the Inferior Civil Court of Mobile County by virtue of such election; that, on or about January 12, 1967, before defendant took office, he discussed with Benjamin F.
