COFFEY, Circuit Judge.

Defendant-appellant, Randall Johnson, appeals the district court’s denial of his motion to suppress. We affirm.

I. Background

At about 4:30 a.m. on August 18, 2002, Sergeant David Cook of the Peoria (Illinois) Police Department, while on patrol duty, responded to a police dispatch reporting that one individual was showing another a gun in an alley behind the 400 block of Cornhill Street in Peoria, Illinois.
