MEMORANDUM AND ORDER

ALLEN SHARP, Chief Judge.

On July 13, 1988, pro se petitioner, Eugene Keith Sulie, filed a petition seeking relief under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. The return filed by respondents on August 25, 1988, demonstrates the necessary compliance with the mandates of Lewis v. Faulkner, 689 F.2d 100 (7th Cir.1982). The state record has been filed here and examined pursuant to the mandates of Townsend v. Sain, 372 U.S. 293, 83 S.Ct. 745, 9 L.Ed.2d 770 (1963).
