delivered the opinion of the court.

This is an appeal from the order of the city court of the city of East St. Louis, denying’ appellant’s motion to open up a judgment theretofore rendered against her in favor of appellee. For purposes of convenience Katerina Tomasovie, appellant, will be designated as defendant and Stefhan Stranak, appellee, as plaintiff.

On January 23, 1935, judgment by confession was entered against defendant, predicated upon a promissory note alleged to have been executed by her, November 10,1931, for the payment to plaintiff of the principal sum…
