COUGHLIN, J. *

Defendant was charged, by indictment, with the offense of murder; was tried by a jury; was convicted of manslaughter, an included offense; and appeals. Two codefendants, Jimmy Monk and Gary Bowers, also were charged with murder; entered pleas of guilty to murder in the second degree under a plea bargain whereby they agreed to and did testify in the trial of defendant, Monk being called as a witness by the prosecution and Bowers being called as a witness by defendant.

The victim of the homicide was Olga Acosta who was known as Billie Jo. The killing occurred in the latter…
