James Hindman, Donald Ray Burnett, and Marshall Eugene Fortner were each convicted of armed robbery, eight counts of aggravated assault, theft by taking, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. All three defendants received life sentences on the armed robbery convictions pursuant to OCGA § 17-10-7 (b) (2), the recidivist statute.
