—Judgment unanimously affirmed. Memorandum: Defendant was convicted following a jury trial of rape in the first degree (Penal Law §§ 20.00, 130.35 [2]) and three counts of sexual abuse in the first degree (Penal Law §§ 20.00, 130.65 [2]), arising from his participation in the gang rape and sexual abuse of a young woman who lost consciousness after consuming the drug Ecstasy. Contrary to the contention of defendant, County Court did not abuse its discretion in denying his request to sever his trial from that of his codefendant (see, People v Mahboubian, 74 NY2d 174, 183).
