These two proceedings were instituted in the name of the State of West Virginia by the prosecuting attorney of Kanawha County against the named defendants under the provisions of article nine, chapter sixty-one, of the Code. The object of the statute referred to is to provide a method of preventing the use of premises for the purposes of prostitution, therein defined to constitute a nuisance, by injunction and to provide a method for col lecting penalties imposed upon the occupants and owners of places so used.
