Terressa L. Cummings (“Defendant”) was charged by amended information with committing the class A felony of murder in the first degree, in violation of § 565.020, by asphyxiating Melissa Rose Saggert Boviall (“Victim”). 1 A jury found Defendant guilty of this offense. Because the State had waived the death penalty and Defendant was a prior offender, the trial court determined punishment and sentenced Defendant to imprisonment for life without eligibility for probation or parole.
