The parties to this litigation, A/S BROVANOR, the ownér of the S/S SKAUTROLL, and CENTRAL GULF STEAMSHIP CORPORATION (hereafter “Central Gulf”), the time charterer of the vessel, were named as defendants in this action brought by the United States of America and Commodity Credit Corporation 1 to recover damages for contamination of a shipment of flour under the CARE program. The claim of the United States Government was settled for the sum of $110,000, of which A/S BROVANOR, the shipowner, advanced $55,000 and Central Gulf, the charterer, the other $55,000,…
