The appellee filed a bill in the city court of the city of Litchfield, Montgomery county, on behalf of himself and other tax-payers of the State of Illinois, charging that the appellant had wrongfully and unlawfully received out -of the State treasury the sum of $3541.61 on warrants drawn in his favor as compensation as deputy and assistant to the Attorney General in the enforcement of the provisions of an act known as the Search and Seizure act while the appellant was a member of the General Assembly of the State.
