OPINION

GILDEA, Chief Justice.

Following a bench trial, the Stearns County District Court found appellant Marcus Michael Barshaw guilty of first-degree premeditated murder in connection with the shooting death of Jeffery Schütz and first-degree assault of a peace officer in connection with an assault committed against Deputy Chad Meemken. 1 The court sentenced Barshaw to life in prison without the possibility of release. 2 On appeal, Barshaw argues that the evidence presented at trial was insufficient to support his convictions of premeditated murder and first-degree assault of a peace officer.…
