DECISION AND ORDER
LARIMER, District Judge.
On February 15, 2006, plaintiff, in this action for Social Security benefits, moved for an order awarding attorney’s fees pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 406(b)(1). Plaintiffs attorney, William J. McDonald, Jr. (“McDonald”), seeks fees in the amount of $21,544.00 on the basis of a contingent-fee agreement between plaintiff and McDonald. The Commissioner responded to plaintiffs motion by letter dated March 21; 2006.
For the reasons set forth below, plaintiffs motion (Dkt.# 23) is granted.
