In this civil rights action, plaintiff Karen Sorlucco, challenges defendant New York City Police Department’s (“NYPD”) decision to discharge her as a probationary police officer. Plaintiff asserts that defendant terminated her on the basis of gender in violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1983 (1982) and Title YII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq.
