Plaintiff, Richard Martis, filed a class action complaint against defendant, Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company, alleging conspiracy, unjust enrichment, violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (Consumer Fraud Act) (815 ILCS 505/1 et seq. (West 2006)) and breach of contract. The trial court dismissed all but plaintiffs breach of contract claim. The trial court then granted plaintiffs motion to certify a class.
