Mary Todd appeals the judgment of the district court 1 granting defendants’ motion for summary judgment. The district court found that plaintiff’s decedent, Barry Todd, was not covered under a group life insurance policy issued by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (Metropolitan) to employees of Dow Chemical Company (Dow), because he was not “actively at work” on July 1, 1981, the date on which the life insurance would otherwise be effective.
