The sole issue before us is whether the District Court abused its discretion in holding that a biological parent’s support obligations commenced prior to the entry of a Declaration of Paternity.

Appellee Leuppe filed a paternity action against Appellant Wallace, requesting child custody and support in district court on June 2r, 2000. On August 2, 2000, Appellant admitted in his answer and counterclaim that he is the biological father of the child. The District Court entered a Declaration of Paternity on September 25, 2000.
