Appellees, certain railroad companies incorporated as steam railroads under the Acts of 1876, filed this suit, and on the hearing to the court without a jury obtained an order perpetually restraining appellants, the Railroad Commission of Texas, the Attorney General, and several district attorneys of Texas, from requiring them to maintain on their gasoline, electric, and gasoline-electric motor cars or trains, carrying passengers over their steam railroads, any particular number of men, or men of any particular name or designation, and particularly a fireman, under the terms of that portion…
