Nancy Thurston, a witness in behalf of the prisoner, on her cross-examination by the counsel for the people, testified that the prisoner became attached to a lady while she was staying at the house of his father, and it was reported that she became pregnant at that time and during her stay there. The counsel for the people then asked the witness, whether she did not know that the prisoner was charged with it? (the prostitution of said female.) The prisoner’s counsel objected to the question.
