Auriel Devon Frett appeals1 from a September 20, 20ll2 Judgment and Commitment issued by the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands. Frett was adjudged guilty of a number of offenses, including first-degree murder, and the court sentenced him to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole,, among other punishments. Frett raises several challenges to his convictions. We conclude that the trial court committed reversible error by permitting a suppressed statement to be used as substantive evidence of Frett’s guilt, and thus we vacate…
