LOONEY, Justice.

Bessie L. Shuford sued the City of Dallas for damages, alleging that she sustained personal injuries on April 5, 1943, by falling over a pile of dirt placed in front of her residence at 2734 Exline Street by the City. She alleged, and the jury found, that the City was guilty of actionable negligence in the following respects: In placing the dirt in front and at the end of the walkway leading from appellee’s house to the sidewalk; in failing to use ordinary care to maintain the sidewalk and parkway (space between sidewalk and curb) in a reasonably safe condition; in failing to…
