In a complaint filed in the circuit court of Cook county Agnes Neering asked for damages because of injuries suffered on September 6, 1938, as a result of being assaulted, beaten, raped and robbed while she was awaiting the arrival of a suburban train at the River-dale Station of the Illinois Central Railroad. A trial before the court and a jury resulted in a verdict in her favor for $5,000.
