CHESNUT, District Judge.
In March 1941, after Italy had entered the European War but before the United States was at war, the master and crews of the two Italian Steamships, the Euro and the Pietro Campanella, injured or destroyed the motive power of the ships respectively after they had been for some time anchored in the Baltimore Harbor. For these acts the master and crews of the two vessels were convicted in this court under 18 U.S. C.A. § 502, a codification of title 3, § 1 of the Act of Congress of June 15, 1917, 40 Stat. 217, 221.
