This is the defendant’s appeal from a judgment entered upon the verdict of a jury in favor of the plaintiff at the Monmouth Circuit in an action for damages for malicious prosecution.

It appears that the defendant made a complaint against the plaintiff before the recorder of the township of Lakewood, in Ocean county, charging the plaintiff with having violated an ordinance of the township regulating the licensing of ears and their drivers in the transportation of passengers, baggage and merchandise within the township of Lakewood, and…
