Prior to the month of January, 1906, one Henry Steil had taken out three policies of insurance upon certain goods then situated in the Chronicle Building, in the city of San Francisco, in three insurance companies; one issued by the Sun Insurance Office of London, one by the Northern Assurance Company, and one by The London Assurance Corporation. In January, 1906, Steil removed said goods to the Shreve Building, in said city, where, on April 19, 1906, they were destroyed in the great fire.
