In February 1999, police arrested and a grand jury separately indicted defendants, Louis Sparks and Patricia Nunn, for cannabis trafficking (720 ILCS 550/5.1(a) (West 1998)), unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis (720 ILCS 550/5(g) (West 1998)), conspiracy to commit cannabis trafficking (720 ILCS 5/8 — 2 (West 1998)), and unlawful possession of more than 100 but less than 400 grams of a controlled substance (720 ILCS 570/402(a)(2)(B) (West 1998)).
