FERGUSON, Judge:

In che late evening of June 15, 1968, Patrolman Stevens of Killeen, Texas, Police Department, acting under the authority of a local suspicious persons ordinance, stopped the accused and requested to see his identification. Just prior to alighting from his squad car, Stevens allegedly observed an object drop from the accused’s pocket into the grass along the sidewalk.
