Defendant appeals from his conviction 1 by the district court, a jury having been waived, for violations of 18 U.S.C. §§ 371 2 and 1952. 3 The first eight counts of the nine count indictment charged that defendant, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1952, used and caused to be used the interstate facilities of Western Union Telegraph Company on eight occasions with the intent to carry on a business enterprise involving gambling offenses in violation of the laws of Illinois, 4 which make it unlawful to knowingly transmit information as to wagers, betting odds, or changes in such…
