ON the 29th of April, 1780, John Floyd made two entries for land on military warrants, the one for 50 acres, and the other for 400, adjoining his Royal Spring tract, on the north fork of Elkhorn ; and in the year 1783, he was killed by the Indians, having previously made his vyill, by which, after sundry special bequests, he devised the residue of his estate to his wife and children, and appointed William Pope and his wife, executors.
