The appellee claims that this Court is devoid of jurisdiction ratione materice over this controversy, as the matter at issue does not exceed two thousand dollars.

The object of this suit is to annul a judgment for some $750, rendered by the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the execution of which standing provisionally enjoined.

This judgment was rendered in a case in which, it is alleged, the amount in dispute exceeded, by an insignificant fraction, the upper limit of the jurisdiction of that court, and over…
