In this case, a public-school student is suing her former school district and a number of school employees. Plaintiff Mylie Harper suffered an injury to her arm when a fellow student pushed her off a retaining wall. Ms. Harper contends that the school district and the individual defendants negligently failed to protect her from harm, negligently and intentionally inflicted emotional distress, and violated her rights under the Utah and federal constitutions and two federal statutes.
