The defendant, John Pecka, appeals from the trial court’s denial of his amended petition for post-conviction relief in a judgment entered February 1, 1987. On July 19, 1982, defendant was sentenced to 30 years’ imprisonment for murder. The conviction and sentence were affirmed on direct appeal. (People v. Pecka (1984), 125 Ill. App. 3d 570, 466 N.E.2d 404.)
