S. B. Poteet owned, at the time of his death, two boundaries of land, one known as “The Home Place” and the other as “The Powell’s River and Wallen’s Creek Farms.” The Federal Land Bank of Baltimore had a deed of trust or mortgage against “The Home Place” for $10,000.00, but this sum had been reduced to $8,375.25 as of May 1, 1927. The Potomac Joint Stock Land Bank' held a deed of trust or mortgage against “The Powell’s River and Wallen’s Creek Farms” for $12,000.00, but it had been reduced some, and as of February, 1927, amounted to $11,614.16.
