OPINION

Defendant Carmecita Williams was convicted of official misconduct (720 ILCS 5/33 — 3(b) (West 1998)), and sentenced to 24 months’ probation. The appellate court reversed defendant’s conviction and entered a judgment of acquittal, concluding that the evidence was insufficient to sustain her conviction. 393 Ill. App. 3d 77. We allowed the State’s petition for leave to appeal (210 Ill. 2d R. 315(a)). For the following reasons, we affirm the judgment of the appellate court.
