Between 6:30 and 7 o ’clock on the evening of January 2, 1937, Mae Smith, while walking in a westerly direction across Boclcton avenue on the northerly side of the intersection of that avenue and Acorn street, in the city of Bockford, was struck by an automobile owned and being driven by 0. Frank Baup. To recover for the injuries which she sustained, this suit was instituted.
