WILSON, J., FOR THE COURT:

¶ 1. The claimant and the employer/carrier settled this workers’ compensation dispute and submitted a joint application for approval of the settlement to the Workers’ Compensation Commission. After the Commission received the application but before it approved the settlement, the claimant died. Two days later, the Commission approved the settlement, unaware that the claimant had passed away.
