William M. Brewer (employee) filed an application with the City of Birmingham Retirement and Relief System Board of Managers (board) for extraordinary disability benefits pursuant to 1973 Ala. Acts, No. 1272 (act). The employee contends that he is permanently disabled to perform his duties as a firefighter, due to head and back injuries suffered in an accidental fall at the fire station where he was employed.
