This is an appeal from a habeas corpus trial had in the District Court of Nacogdoches County wherein the defendant was denied bail. An indictment had been returned into the District Court of Nacogdoches County at the February term, 1910, charging the relator, Jim Pettis, with the murder of one Belle Hutchinson by then and there cutting and stabbing her with a knife.
